The London mayor Boris Johnson announced that the government plans to supply 20,000 body-worn cameras for the officers of the Metropolitan Police force.
The body-word cameras will be applied over the next ten months in order to equip all the police officers with the recording devices by April next year.
The cameras can record whatever the police encounter which can be used to gather evidence in the filed and enhance the public trust due to the police accountability.
Metropolitan police are now busy testing the device, it is a part of a trial that 6000 video clips may be tested each this summer.
It is said that the London’s police force will become the most camera-equipped in the world. The body-word cameras record the proposals receive regulatory backup from the on-duty.
Johnson told the public in the statement, the camera quipped device is an amazing technology and it will help the government to build trust and assist the police to their jobs, and also provide the public the watch the officers more accountable.
Johnson continued that the government has plans for the application of technology of Body Worm Video for more officers in a single city than anywhere else in the world, and it would be a great technology improvement towards the 21st century police force in London.
