Samsung offers compensations to those employees contacted cancer in South Korea plants

Employees are an one of the important parts of developing an enterprise. Employees’ health is also an important access to the enterprise. Samsung has confirmed it did not do a good job to protect its staff from being ill and dead at its semiconductor plants in South Korea.

Samsung has planned to use 100 billion won (amount to $50 million) to compensate its employees who got cancer and other incurable deceases because of the insecure working environment.

The activist group Sharps have revealed 200 instances of Samsung employees involving in health problems and 70 percent of those employees died due to these health problems at last.

According to Reuters, there were deaths caused by gas leaks at Samsung’s chip plants and they have been reported to the public before.

Samsung CEO Kwon Oh-hyun apologized that they should have solved the working conditions issue to prevent such tragedy. They felt sorry for this tragedy and shamed for the failure of saving them.

The Samsung company will use the funding to compensate the victims an d their families in this issue. What is more, it will also improve the health and safety of working conditions at Samsung’s plants with a portion of the funding.
